A quarter of a million raised for House of Basketball

The basketball fans who attended the Lithuanian-Serbian match not only saw a persistent fight on the court, but also contributed to the construction of the House of Basketball. Fans who attended the basketball match donated a total of 247,672.05 euros.

This is the largest amount collected in the history of the friendly games. The best result before that was recorded in 2016, when Lithuanians played Spain in the Žalgiris arena. Match saw sold out and 190,411 euros were collected.

“I would like to thank everyone very much for attending the game and not only supporting the national team, but also contributing to the construction of the House of Basketball. Every euro raised was invested into the project. I would also like to thank other people and companies who have given and will continue to provide various amounts of support to this project and its development”, – said Arvydas Sabonis

House of Basketball is a non-profit organization established by Kaunas City Municipality and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation.

Basketball court nearby will consist of 6,000 pieces of tiles, and support for perpetuating the tile amounts to 350 euros. Everyone who has contributed to the project in this way will be able to write their name on the tile.
